The head of the board of directors of Iran's International Transport Companies Guild Association reported 16 to 17-day truck halts at borders, unrealistic AI-based tax pressures, and a fivefold increase in trade disputes.
Ehsan Malekzadeh, chairman of the board of directors of Iran's International Transport Companies Guild Association, highlighted the 16 to 17-day standstill of trucks at western and eastern border crossings such as Bazargan, Razi, Dogharon, and Rimdan. He noted that the lack of unified border command is the root cause of these transit delays. Malekzadeh also criticized tax and social security pressures driven by inappropriate AI algorithms generating unrealistic figures. Furthermore, the entry of unqualified companies into road transport due to stagnation in other sectors has caused a four to fivefold surge in trade dispute cases. He advised cargo owners to work exclusively with licensed, reputable transport firms.
