Freight traffic at the Bazargan border terminal has increased by 40% in the first half of the current year compared to the same period last year.
Arsalan Shokri, Director General of Road Maintenance and Transportation of West Azerbaijan, announced that 120,000 freight vehicles passed through the Bazargan terminal in the first six months of the year. Following diplomatic efforts, daily departures have risen from 180-220 to 350-400 vehicles, with a target of 500 per day. The Poldasht border terminal also saw a 30-40% increase. Shokri clarified that reports of 7,000 trucks at the border refer to the online queuing system rather than physical presence, as vehicles are called 72 hours before their scheduled time.
