First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref stated that the maritime blockade has served as an opportunity to accelerate the development of Iran's land and rail transit corridors.
During a meeting of the National Transit Headquarters, First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref emphasized that completing the North-South and East-West corridors is a priority for the 14th government. He noted that while the maritime blockade posed challenges, it created a new opportunity to expand border terminals and alternative transport routes. Reports indicate significant growth in rail and road trade during the first half of the year. To optimize logistics, the government has approved a data-driven governance system for real-time truck monitoring and a smart queuing system at border crossings to reduce congestion and improve efficiency, aiming to establish Iran as a regional transport hub.
