The implementation of an electronic queuing system at the Sero border terminal has significantly reduced waiting times for transit and export fleets.
Arsalan Shokri, Director General of Road Maintenance and Transportation of West Azerbaijan, announced that the new electronic queuing system has drastically improved border efficiency. Previously, waiting times could exceed one month; however, they have now dropped to five days for essential goods, 12 days for exports, and 15 days for transit. Currently, about 180 vehicles cross the border daily. Authorities are working to develop infrastructure on both sides of the border to increase this capacity to 300 vehicles per day, aiming to further streamline trade and logistics operations.
