The authority also warns of strict enforcement against abandoned or improperly parked trucks and trailers, requiring removal within 15 days and imposing penalties, towing and relocation costs. Additionally, from 1 September 2026 PCFC will send SMS reminders to customers when truck or container permits approach expiry, though these messages do not grant extensions.
The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) has launched a campaign to locate non‑compliant and abandoned trucks and trailers operating within its jurisdiction. As part of the effort, companies are instructed to review all vehicles under their control and take corrective action.
Effective Wednesday 13 November 2024, the temporary truck parking area at Jafza Gate 7 will become a paid zone. Trucks parked there will be charged AED 15 per day per vehicle, with the same rate applied for multiple entries.
The PCFC also warns that any truck or trailer left in unauthorised areas will be dealt with immediately – penalties, towing and, if necessary, relocation at the owner’s expense. Recipients of this notice must remove trailers, trucks and unattended cargo within 15 days.
Furthermore, trucks without trailers will be denied entry or exit from the free zone unless prior permission is obtained from DP World Traffic Management.
Starting Tuesday 1 September 2026, PCFC will issue SMS reminder notifications when truck or container entry permits approach their expiry date. The messages serve only as reminders and do not constitute approval for permit extensions. Customers are urged to monitor permit validity to avoid operational disruption.
