The Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs announced the upcoming implementation of a 'direct transport' regulation for customs to reduce truck congestion at borders.
Morteza Zamanian, Deputy for Economic Policy and Strategy at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, announced that a 'direct transport' (haml-e yeksareh) regulation will be issued next week. This policy aims to transform borders into transit zones by shifting the bulk of customs procedures to inland customs offices.
Zamanian noted that current border delays impose heavy costs on traders. Developed in coordination with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, and the Central Bank, this initiative seeks to facilitate trade and eliminate unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles for economic operators.
